Yes i looked for it but i didn't find any results for doing such.

Also with doing this swap, if i use the 3.0 flywheel will the 3.0 starter work?

Okay so im in a rut with this..

i am having problems with finding an ecu... im about ready to call up TAP recycling tomorrow and ordering from them.
My only concern is that the auto harness might not plug into the mt ecu they send me..

if that is the case is there a place where i can buy each individual plug and rewire that so it will plug into the ecu?

Okay i have a problem i have been searching for a freaking ecu for a while now and i cannot get one..

This guy Doug at a shop in rancho cordova has been searching through books for me seeing if the ecu's he has would work.
He ended up not having an ecu out of a 99 tacoma mt.

But he said he could sell me a uncut harness out of a 96 4runner 3.4 manual trans with the ecu for $250.

My question is, should i do this. I will essential have two harnesses then, so if anything on the 96 harness didn't work on my motor i could always swap the connectors correct?

If i buy this will the 96harness and ecu work with this motor.. Smog/CEL/ ETC............
Please respond to this cause if so i need to order it today so i can get it this week.

Thanks.
-Mike

okay i did not buy that particular harness/ecu..

I am trying to make this ecu work temp, until i can get a M/T ecu..
Does anyone know where i can get one for cheap,
If the auto ecu will work for now,
Or if a 99 tacoma 2wd 3.4L manual trans ecu will work, (i can get one for $100)

Just a heads up, if you pick up a 4runner ecu of the same year. Even tho the plugs are the same, the wires are in differant locations in the plugs. This means you can use a 4runner ecu, but will have to repin the harness. Both at the ecu and plugs that plug into the body harness.
