2001 toyota 4runner AT 2wd 3.4 swap into a 89 toyota 4x4 pickup 3.0 manual transmissi
Ready to do my 3.4 swap. I have a complete 2001 4runner donner it is a 2wd auto transmission. I want to swap the 3.4 into my 89 toyota 4x4 pickup with a 5 speed transmission. I know that I will have to use the oil pan and oil pick up tube from the 3.0 and the baffle from the 3.4 and I have read that the baffle from the 3.4 has to be cut out for the pick up tube to mount but the pick up tube mounted just fine with just a little cut and bend in the front lip of the baffle and I mean very little cut and bend. I did have to cut one mounting support legs off because it hit in the center of the baffle but I feel like this will work just fine unless someone can tell me different. I do not see any other issues with the baffle. Does anyone know sounds this sound correct with the 2001 3.4.

i had a hard time following your logic.
if you use the pickup tube, baffle, pan, and oil dipstick from your 3.0 you will be fine. when I did my swap, my 3.4 came with the dipstick tube in the oil pump housing. i rebuilt the entire engine so i just ordered a non tube housing and installed the plug in the side of the block. it was very easy.
