Tire Rotation
#21
I forgot to pipe in about the cross-rotation-pattern, but you guys are absolutely correct about the radials. Front to back, back to front, no crossover. That's the best plan for 4WD radials.

I work at sams club and they have a tire center there. I am planning to move out to the tire center in 3 months when i turn 18. they really know their stuff out there. they never "just use their guns" to put the tires back on. they put start to put the nuts on with a long bit, which will break before it'll break a bolt. they generally dont put them on hard at all, just about hand tight. then one person goes around the car, rear left going clockwise, and torques them with a torque bar to the proper spec.
rotating the tires there... they just do a front/back switch. never cross swap tires.
just some info

that's what everybody usually does but they should "start" the nuts by hand to keep from cross-threading them. sometimes they will cross them on there and then torque them down because if they take them back off they won't be able to get it back on properly since they already mangled the stud threads. I'm not saying that every one of them does this, but it's been my experience that most here in northwest houston do it. both firestone and discount tires have done it to at least one car I have owned. never bought tires at sams so I can't say yea or nay about them. I want that homack roller chest they have there though, you get discounts? haha
