Strap with cut off end

i bought a strap for $3 at a flea market. it's 4" wide and like 60 plus feet long. one end has a loop and the other has been cut off. does anyone have any ideas for what i could do for this end? should i try to take it somewhere and have them sew it up like the loop on the on the other side is or what? I think this will make a badass recovery strap if I fix it up right.

I think you're taking a big risk there. Better to invest your $$ in something that was designed for that purpose.
It's a lot of stress you'd be putting that thing under.

Just my opinion
