Oil Change Mishap

Oil Change Mishap
I was changing the oil on my 98 Tacoma and while pouring the new oil in, accidentally bump the funnel, spilling around a quart of oil all over my engine bay. Most of the oil seemed to fall straight through the engine bay, landing on the frame, but a good bit got all over my alternator. I wiped everything down as best as I could, but am worried it may have done some damage to the alternator. Is there anything I need to do? Is this something to worry about or not? This may sound like a stupid question, but it has got me worried. Thanks

Sounds like you gave yourself a free oil spray. I can't see it causing any harm
Whenever I get my truck Oil sprayed the cover the whole vechile top to bottom.
Im sure someone else will chime in here .

My front main seal went bad and the fan coated everything in the engine bay with oil, including the alt. It was so bad I could see any of the shinny metal. I cleaned everything with Gunk engine bright and everything is working just fine.

I went out and started it up and it seems to be running as well as always, and best of all, it is looking much cleaner. Thanks for the info guys.
