just replaced plugs now it hesitates

I just replaced my spark plugs and wires and cap and rotor on my 93 4runner.. Now as I drive it hesitates, or misses.. I checked all my connections and nothing is loose, any ideas?

are you sure you have them in the correct order on the cap?

You probably either have a bad wire or plug. Were you careful to route the wires the way they were originally routed.

Did you get quality stuff, or cheap stuff? Check all the plugs to make sure they are not broken (ie:the porcelain), make sure all the wires are completely plugged in and going to the correct cylinder (just recapping, you may have already checked these things).

You might put the old stuff back in, one by one and see if it solves the problem. That is if you were not having a problem to begin with.

Good Luck

A few months ago people were mentioning that it is worth it to check the gaps in the plugs before you put them in. You never know what the plugs experienced before they came to your possession.

Yes, check the gap again. I dropped a plug once and the tip butted up against the electrode. Needless to say it didn't run very well. NGK and Denso plugs/wires seem to work the best for Toyota rigs.
