Help! Just pulled a trailer and now have a problem...
#1
I just got done pulling a 4400 lb U-haul trailer. I know it's a little heavy for the 4runner but she did it the 15 or so miles. However after I unhooked it, my shifter won't disengage to shift from Park. But I can move it by using the Shift Overide button. I can hear it click under the dash when I push the button on the shifter to move it. So it seems like it isn't getting the signal from the brake pedal. I already checked my fuses with no luck. I don't think pulling the trailer is related to this but I could be wrong.
Any ideas?
Thanks

Nevermind
Ok, I rechecked my fuses and found that the one fuse that was blown that I thought was my cig lighter fuse is actually my brake fuse. So that's my problem. I actually found the answer by searching. Wow I feel like a newb.
BTW, that fuse diagram for on the backside of the cover under the dash is kinda hard to read. Thanks Toyota!
Mods, I can leave this thread up if you think it will be good info for someone else in the future or I can delete. Let me know otherwise I'll leave it here for anyone else who might have a similar problem.

FYI:
Yes there is a brake light fuse and if it goes out, you can't shift out of park cause the brake pedal doesn't send the proper signal.
We were at Tellico, guy had a trailer wiring harness dangling, got smashed on a rock, he tucked it into the trailer hitch and from where it got smashed there was a cut wire. It shorted on the metal from the hitch and blew the fuse, thus when he got back in his rig to go, it woudn't go out of park. Took us a few minutes to figure it out, but it was a fuse. I bet when you unhooked the trailer wiring harness it shorted and blew the fuse. Check you trailer wiring harness for knicks and cuts or it will happen again.
