Well the weather finally cooled off enough for me to spend about seven hours washing, claying, polishing and waxing my truck.

The steps I took are, I believe, exactly whay Corey has listed on his detail site but here they are.

1. Wash with Dawn dishwashing soap to take off all the old wax.
2. Dry using the Griot's microfiber drying towel.
3. I used the Porter Cable and Griot's clay along with Griot's Speedshine to remove all the contaminents.
4. Used Griot's #3 Polish with their orange polishing pad and the Porter Cable.
5. Waxed with Griot's Best of Show wax, again, with the PC.

I was really surprised when I used the #3 polish. Even after washing and claying, the polishing pad got pretty dirty. The polish wipes off really easy. Much easier than the BOS wax. Although I think I finally have the amount needed on the red wax applicator figured out. No larger than a dime sized "globlet" of the BOS should be applied in the middle of the red pad. When you stop seeing wax on the paint, apply another dime sized "globlet".

A few other tips- If you use the polish, spread it out with your fingers on the orange polishing pad to get it evenly dispersed. Also, if you haven't tried a final sheeting rinse to get rid of tons of water before you dry, your really missing out.

Mines still beading water like crazy, and it was the end of April when I last PC'd mine.

I will have to try a little less BOS too, as I still have a tendency to put on a little to much thanks to the old school way of waxing.
It's true, a little BOS goes a long ways...

A couple of other tips- Griot's recommends using the PC set to speed 6 using the polish and 3-4 for applying the wax.

I also finished it all off with a clean microfiber towel and Speedshine to get any wax dust and detail.
