fuel filter???

I have a 88 runner, the normal fuel filter is under the intake. The one that it has now is just a filter inline with the rubber gas line. Would it make any difference not being a stock fuel filter?

Just curious because I am replacing the filter and wondering if it matters what one to get.

i would go with a stock replacement, its not that hard to do if you taket the wheel off and the access pannel on the inside of the wheel well off,

if you need one i can sell you my oem one that i bought for 10 bucks shipped, it has about 100 miles on it or less, i thought i needed a new filter when it was actually a gasket leak causing poor power and check engine lights.

Not that I know much about the fuel filters but it seems that whenever anyone mentions replacing the filter mostly everyone suggests just going with OEM. My guess is that nobody has any information to believe that there is anything else out there does the job better...

EDIT:
SIGNIFICANTLY better, I mean
