Smile Fan Clutch

Hi Guys, I had a noise under the hood of my 96 Tacoma 2.7 4 cyl.Upon checking it was the fan clutch. It was loose and you could move it in and out.The water pump is OK.I called one of the parts stores and they said they had 2 in stock so I picked one up.When I remove the old one and was inspecting it it "popped back in place" and all the play and wobble isnt there now.Since there appears to be a problem with it I started to put the new one on.It is shorter than the original and the fan would hit the belts, pulley etc..I went back to the parts place and they don't have one like my original.I then went to 4 other parts stores with no luck.Do you guys use after market parts? I work and have a hard time getting to the Dealer when their Parts dept is open.Does anyone have a source on line that deal in Toyota parts?
Thanks,
Carl
