check engine light!!!

i have a 1995 pick up with 3.0 automatic, and i have been getting the check engine light to come on only when i drive the truck for about 15-20 minutes and then shut it off and start again the light will come on,when it does come on the truck will hesitate and miss pretty bad!!!i jumped out the computer and the code it throws is a #12...the truck only has 40k on it do you think it has something to do with the truck sitting alot??also the light will usually only stay on when i am on the gas and will go off when i let off...i have posted about this one other time and i checked all the connections and grounds..

Code 12 is the RPM signal.

Check here for the discription of the diagnostic code page 7.
and here for the trouble shooting procedure that is referenced in the chart Trouble shooting.

Basicly you aren't getting the signal from the ditributer to the ECM. If I am reading the discription correctly.
