Brembo install question

I got my two front rotors and my single rear drum in last night and plan on installing them this evening. Just wondering if I should replace pads and shoes even if they don't need to be. IOW should I change them to accomodate my new rotors or is there a better pad that works with these blank Brembos?

okay....so your rotors were warped, and this is why you are replacing with brembo's? or you are just doing it...just because?

My rotors were warped becuase my left rear drum became warped due to over "impacted" lugs. The warped drum caused the automatic tensioner to jump off the teath of the star gear and now my rear brakes barely work. So I called the factory for a replacement drum and they wanted about $140. So I checked with Autozone or the like and they wanted about $90. So I found Brembo ones online at Taylor Automotive for $82 shipped. I also got the blank rotors from them as well.

i would def. change out the pads too then. warped rotors cause uneven wear on pads. makes sense when you think about it.

i got brembo cross drilled rotors, and picked up a set of PBR 4x4 brake pads. they are australian made, and many bmw owners run them, as they have great performance. this set up has proven to be great in performing, and rather rugged as well. i have had them on for over 30k, and no signs of going bad. stop on a dime too! they ran about $40 for the set of pads.

I could slot mine as I work for a fab/machine shop, but I heard that it's not good to have slotted brakes if you ever go into mud holes, and being the only mountains and hills we have are overpasses, I see mud a lot.

I will definitely change the pads and shoes then. Thanks!
