2003 Tacoma Question
I just bought a 2003 V6 xtra cab Prerunner this week and love the truck! It's my third Toyota since 1985.
Everytime I start it up and put it in drive and move about 20 feet it makes a sound like airplane flaps being lowered! It sounds like a sytem of some type starting but I can't figure it out for the life of me and can't find any reference in the book.
Any ideas?

Take it back to the dealer and have it checked.

i think it's your antilock brake system engaging. i've read posts about something like that before and that was the culprit.

The dealer confirmed that it is the ABS pump initiating.
