tundra body swap or 1uz-fe swap???
what do you guys think would be easier. Swapping an older mini-pickup cab on to a wrecked or rolled tundra..OR swapping a 1uz-fe into a mini-pickup? I would think it b easier to swap cabs(as there is not as much wiring, harness clipping/grafting,etc.) if the tundra steering column and gauges were used in the mini-pickup.
can anyone who did the 1uz swap list some pros & cos?
swapping cabs pro's
-no transmission/ transfer-case adapters.
so no special flywheels, clutches or moded input shafts, or speedometer mods needed.
-no cross-members or motor mounts to fab/place.
-no big fuel modifications
-I would imagine the wiring would be much easier to graft the pickup body harness to the tundra motor/body harness if the tundra steering column and guages were used. As opposed to grafting the 1uz-fe motor/body harness to the pickup body harness.
-no extensive radiatior/fan mods.
-lower amount of pieces to be fabricated. I can foresee needeing new body mounts locations(easy), brackets for using tundra steering column.

the tundra frame is probably wider then the whole mini truck body.. and it would be an insane amount of body work to get a mini body to stretch in all directions to make it fit over the tundra frame.. I say swap the motor..

i'd swap the motor i've heard from some that its easy and some that its hard and if you swap the body it would either look like or it would take more work to look good than the uz swap would take
