swap 22re for turbo
i was at the junk yard recently and found a 22rte in i think was an '86 pickup. great looking engine, no leaks, still runs. Guy told me the whole engine, all wiring, and computer was mine for $400...doesn't that sound reasonable?
so i was thinking...should i throw it in my '88 4x4? its my DD but i also wheel the out of it, mud and puddles are fun...(but the stock turbo mount is way down in the engine compartment but i remember seeing an aftermarket mani. that puts it up by the valve cover) but i would like that extra power pulling hills and just everywhere else. is the turbo engine good for wheelin or am i takin a risk putting it through that kinda stuff?
the other option i was thinkin of was finding an older 2wd to throw it in...i know its not a big powerful turbo'd engine but would just be a fun project and i think it would be fun to do a brake stand at a light and be spoolin up in my lil yota
so what do u guys think?
