Like so many I've got a 91 four runner with the 3.0 v6 which runs, weakly. I'd like to know the best engine to swap into the 91. Of course money is THE object, so would a 22r work?? Thanks

 

3.4 would be the way to go, wouldn't go from a 3.0 to a 22re.

 

Thanks for the reply. So with the 3.4 swap I'll need the whole shooting match to make it work. It should bolt up to my auto tranny but won't I need the computer and the wiring harness(s) ?? Trading basic engines won't work??
