92 pickup 3VZE into 95 SR5 4runner

Hello everyone!

I am currently in the process of swapping my 92 pickup 3vze into a 95 4runner that I just bought. I am wondering if any of you have any information about this swap and if there are any differences between the two set ups, I haven't really noticed any differences just by looking but this is my first engine swap so any extra info will help! I will try to post pics along the way of things I may find or suggestions to make it easier for anyone in the future.

Thanks in advance!

Tyler

Should be fairly straightforward.

Switch over and use all the various sensors that are on the '95.

The two different year engines may use a different timing belt tensioning system, but all that means is that you have to buy the correct parts for that year engine.

Thanks! i've been reading about the tensioning differences for the two years. I'm hoping it's fairly straight forward once i get the 92 into the 95.

Hi I'm wondering how your engine swap is going? I'm doing about the same thing. removing a 3.0 from a 92 and taking a good motor from a 95 and putting it in the 92. I'm pretty close to removing the first one. Hopefully Tuesday.

Did you complete this? I am about to start working on my 91 4Runner. Previous owner had swapped a V6 from a 1992 truck into it. It hasn't ran since. I just got it home and will start diagnosing the issues tomorrow. Just trying to research and see if there is anything they should have done. I have all the electronics for the 1992 truck. I would think it should have been pretty close to plug and play. He said he wasn't getting any fire but it would turn over.
