I am just about to retire my 22r engine in my 1983 pickup and am having trouble deciding on an engine I would like to stay 4cyl. I live in California and am to sure if these engines are legal to have in my truck I have been thinking about buying a parts truck for either a 2.7 3rz or a 22re . My dad said we should go diesel but I think it might be impossible to get something like a 2lte legal here in California and think it would be hard converting without a lot of info to help.
