1988 efi to 1986 carb possible?

i need to rebuild my 1988 22re 2.4l efi engine but while i do that i still want use of my truck could i swap in another engine i have its a 1986 22r 2.4 carburated. please let me know if this is possible

yes it is, or you could install the other motor and put all the efi components on it and not deal with the hassle of swapping over some of the carb stuff

he wants to do it for the time being.... anyways yes completely possible, just dont have to plug in as many wires and you might have to splice in a few, but like stated above you can take off your efi stuff and put it on the motor and there ya go prob solved and you can rebuild the motor.....but begs the next question why not just rebuild the 86 and keep the motor you got in it till you get the 86 done.......then swap over your efi stuff to it? less motor swaps that way
