worth welding?

worth welding?

IM in the process of doing a SAS in my 88 pickup and i have an 85 axel all pulled apart for cleaning and i was wondering if it would be worth welding it up? seeing as im cheap i dont wanna spend alot on my rig.

I say go for it. Weld a 1/4" plate in there like this


Having mild steel in there to bind the cast really helps

welding the front 3rd?

I would not recommend it unless you plan to get chromoly birfs, inners, and hydro assit.. cheap is a lock right under $300 shipped and you can throw it in yourself.

btw i am welded front and i broke a birf on a flat dry feild I now have longs I also needed hydro assit to keep the bindage from driving me nuts

hmmm i think im just going to weld it up im plan on buying a new truck soon enough so im not to worried about it
