Is it worth it?

I got dumb and sold my 90 extra cab 4cy straight axle. I had it FULLY setup for dd driving and wheeling. Well I bought a stock 90 v6 extra cab pickup and thought I would like it better for what I do.... Well any ways I now want to straight axle it. My question is that I have 178k miles on it with 145k on the motor. It is a very clean truck inside and out because it was bought from the original owner. Is it worth it to put the $3k into straight axeling it?(counting the sas kit, labor, rear kit, and 33 inch tires)
Also would a 5inch kit with 33's look dumb? I dont want to have to regear....

Well I dont want 37's I want to run 33's and I am wondering if a 5 inch would be too big for 33's. I dont want to regear... I wonder how 35's would be with out regearing. I had to regear my old truck a 4cylinder with 5.29s for 35s but the v6 might just pull them.

yes, even a 4 inch kit will look dumb with 33s. it doesnt sound like your doing anything really hardcore so why not a old man emu kit? that would look much better with the 33s.

If you're not going to gear the diffs then I don't think you need to SAS. My point is, your gears may pull the 33's fine on the hwy but off road through rocks will suck. You need gears way before SAS for that.

In 4 wheel low you can creep pretty good. I dont rock crawl I just climb hills, mud bog, and trail drive. I think that lifting IFS is retarded and gay. I hate the look of a stock truck and I dont want a body lift or IFS lift... So thats why I want to straight axel it. I have seen people with 33's go alot of places. Heck I know people with 33's who go to the rubicon. I might regear and go to 35's some day. But I know I can pull 33's no problem. I think I will just get a 3 inch IFS elminater kit and call it good. I wouldnt even need to do any thing to my drive lines would I?

You will still need to lengthen your front DS and either use the CV (upper portion) from a solid axle truck or clearance your IFS DS flanges. If you don't, the lower flange will never meet the diff flange. If it does, it will be close and the angle will not be pretty.

My buddy used TG's 3" springs and his truck sits about the same height as mine with 4" springs. Their 3" springs are tall. Taller than you would think.
