Three link done easy, or just pipe dream?
So or been doing a ton of research on three link front suspensions and have been reading people's build ups and seen there pictures and i had a strange yet interesting idea. Since I'm starting with an Ifs 4runner. What if I was to remove any Ifs junk lower than the frame but keep the upper a arms and mount the upper spring cups to them for te coils that extend to the axle. It's in the correct location if I were to make brakets for coils anyways and There seems to be enough space in the arm for it as well. Assuming that factory brakets currently holding my vehicles weight will be as strong or stronger than something fabed up. Debatable whether or not to hard brace the arms at flat or to leave them as is with tortion bars still in as extra suspension movement. Just curios if anyone has ever tried. I'm not looking to hear "don't do it" looking for why or why not with some acts to back up your reasoning. Could be a huge disaster. Could be the start of a new trend. All I know is it will be made with parts that could be thrown out if all fails and I'm definetly willing to try with respective help and direction just for the sake of being an innovator haha.

UCA have some weak mounting points, but the real reason to fab your own mounting points is that you will be limited in your axle location. Better to locate the axle and links and then mount the coilovers last so that you can get your motion ratios correct instead of being tied to the UCA placement.

Haven't done any link setups for a front axle, but in the rear at full bump you want the coilover to be in a 1 to 1 motion ratio with the movement of the link.
