Got the FOA 2" coilovers in yesterday. they are pretty good looking, but poor packaging, didn't even wrap the shocks themselves, for how UPS throws stuff around... pics later this weekend.

I talked him down on the longfields, gave him the college student sob story and how I didnt want to buy trail queer's dirty 30's.

The heims are from www.midwestcontrol.com PT#MSM-12z right hand thread. cheapest and strongest ones they have that doesn't have a teflon race. figured steel on steel race would last a little longer and wouldn't have sloppy links 3 months in to driving the dang thing.

the new cross member will be done this sunday and will have some pics, and hopefully have CUT THE FRONT END OFF!!!

I wish I had Uncle Sam to use his tools and shop space, and to call it class. Vegas schools don't do it cause there is the possibility someone may get hurt. Jealous dude. Looking good!

Stafford loans, for all build items, axle, coilovers, highsteer, etc.
This so happens to be my senior project for my Automotive management degree, which the presentation is due June 11. So, technically, "Uncle Sam" is paying for it now, then of course, I will bear the debt.

Thanks man, it is pretty nice having the full labs available to me, thats why I'm busting hump right now to get this done. The shop has one hell of an insurance policy for the students in the lab, haven't seriously hurt myself yet, fingers crossed.

Thats about all I got done the last couple of days. Going to do the rear lower links tonight, then that will be it for the rear. Going to position the front with some plumb bobs after I get the front on jack stands, the lift is holding the body crooked right now.

Thanks guys. The front cross-member is bolted in and ready to have link mounts welded to it. If my lower rear link hadn't dropped off the jack stand on to my pinky knuckle last night, I would have finished the rear. Almost done in time to present the project and graduate....geesh

Got the front almost done yesterday. The two lower links are in tentatively as well as the upper link. Need to adjust the angle of the lower frame side brackets to prevent binding of the heims at full droop. Panhard is going to be bent(preferably) or cut and welded to achieve the angle I need to avoid the upper link mount.

Progress is a little slow with my last two finals today!!!!!!!!!

Thanks man, almost done final welding the coil hoops, have to move the steering shaft to get to the back of the pipes and on the other side. Going to mock the coilovers in there with the springs for z and giggles.

YEAH! She's sitting on her own weight right now, the front is just about where I wanted. Unfortunately, I screwed up the rear upper links, got the geometry wrong so the rear is just sitting with the lowers right now. Will get some pics here in a minute.

Okay, So I am having a nightmare of a time trying to get the front brakes figured out. I have ordered rotors from a FJ60, FJ62, FJ80 and the closest to fitting the IFS calipers is the FJ60 rotors from an '87. ARGH!!!!

I don't get why these rotors don't quite work with the IFS hub on the solid axle spindle. I have to position the caliper on the outside of the two mounting tabs for the caliper instead of on the inside so the bolt can thread into the two tabs on the outer knuckle.
btw- I know about the TG ones, I'm trying to save some money....

Dude! JB! How the hell did I not see this thread earlier?? I thought that shop/rig looked familiar! I think I even saw Rob's arm in one of those shots! I read through the whole thread and your work is great! We need to have a more detailed chat about my 3.4 swap sometime; as soon as I finish my summer classes next week I'm gonna get rippin' on that thing. Also, we need to go hit some trails in your sick "new" rig! Your truck is so sexy. It was actually what inspired me to get my truck. I've got a ways to go before it looks like yours though! Anyway, nice work. Keep it up, bro!

Thanks man, she's almost done. Finished the proportioning valve, and lines in the rear today, which wraps up the rear. Just need to do the gas tank, pump, bumpstops, and brakes in the front and we are wheeling my man...
