Starting of my basic, budget swap...

Alright put a level across the frame and got the truck all squared up (thankfully our shop is level and square!) and shackle angles are still off by the same amount...checked and double checked my measurements and locations and squareness and really can't see how it could be improved on.

Some new goodies, picked em up yesterday but we lost our internet with the little storm we had last night (thanks Comcast
)

5 35x12.5 BFG MTs on nice shiny new rock crawlers!

Front 4.88's, thanks Mike!!

LC brake rotors drilled to IFS hub pattern

Driveshaft carrier bearing dropped 1" for better angles

New LSPV bracket
Also started a new thread for the rest of the build up to keep things simple: https://www.yotatech.com/f191/silver...thread-196707/

From the pictures the tubes and hanger looks correct. My guess would be that the front axle is not level, which is making the shackle angle different.
Put the wheels on the front axle and level the ground that the wheels sit on. Your frame can be level and your axle not level, which can make your shackle angle different.
Like in this picture it looks like the driver side is higher, causing the spring to be flater, causing the shackle to lay farther back than the other one.

Alright a bit more progress coming along, ran into a bit of a problem with the lift the phase converter puked out so truck is stuck up in the air until we can get this fixed...well at least I decide I have the patience to crank it down by hand with a ratchet, probably tomorrow then I'll get the axle level and see how it sits. Did some work on the interior and got the axle done and wheels...
Ran into a bit of a problem with a broken bolt on one of the hubs

Yay!

got some work done in the other build up thread too!

Pulled the wheels off before dropping it down on the ground to test fit the brake calipers:

Tacking the inside nuts in place for extra security

uh oh....its a little tight

So pulled em back off and ran em out to a mate at the machine shop to have him mill a 60 thousandths off the ears to centre them up on the rotors, hopefully have them back tomorrow
Went ahead and dropped it down though to get a look at stance and shackle angles etc.

Hmmm...looks sexy!
although drivers side is 3/4" higher, and the front is now 2" higher then the rear, any suggestions!!?? I think I'm going to have to drill my perches back 1" though to save my bumper from getting ripped off...and yes I like my stock bumper!!
Whokrz-axle looks awfully level from what I can tell, I think my spacer on my driver side spring perch is too thick and that's causing the difference in shackle angles, it's 5/8 instead of 3/8...

Wow my knees and back hurt, arthritis plus cold plus crawling around and welding all day is tough! Where to start, well got the rear shock mounts done so other than brake lines the rear is all done including retightening / retorquing all important mounting bolts.

Ya the angle is a little steeper than I'd like but we'll see, its a tight fit with the 14" 5150s.
Ended up going to the dark side and drilling the front perches an 1" to move the axle back a touch, just trying to play it safe and look out for my bumper!

Cut the core support for pushing the steering box forward & started on gusseting and getting the front hanger all welded up solid:

Damn it's thicker than I thought! ended up pulling out the sawzall

Oh and got the frame plated too for the shock towers

Hopefully get it all welded up tomorrow and finish relocating the steering box and get her all painted up...got some work done in the other thread too on the rest of the build up!

Its always nice to see them sitting on tires.
You may want to fully weld where the body mount is tack welded to the body. I cut mine out very similar to how you have cut yours. After 2 years of wheeling the tack welds let go. This causes the fan to introduce its self to the shroud every time the truck flexes.

Got the brakes back a few days ago, been a bit lazy and haven't gotten on the computer much...wife's finally here from Aus, so have had other things to do!

Much better fit now...but when the wheels went on they didn't fit anymore, wheels don't clear the caliper so tried a bit of grinding first:

Still didn't work so decided to cut my losses and order some .25" wheel spacers
only have 4 more days to get this thing on the road so don't have the time to try and figure something else out...
Got the frame all plated and sleeved for steering box, shoved her as far forward as possible without chopping the body mount and low enough to be able to fit a flat pitman arm if need be (more on that later)

Front hanger all finished up:

Pulled the calipers off for now to get the steering and final stance checked:

Much better!
Threw a jack under to do a basic flex check and ran into this:

Noooooo! Damnit...well got a hold of my TG dealer and hopefully can get the new pitman arm in time.
In the mean time did some more work for the other thread and put in new rear brake line:

Which seems a bit short, shorter then my double stock lines, and fits awfully poorly, saw that TG sells a bracket kit for it but who the hell makes a brake line that doesn't fit the factory clips???? The fronts do...
not the only thing that didn't fit well, inboard front u bolt on the passenger side is barely long enough with only about .5" of thread above the nut if that, oh and almost forgot, the provided bolts for the steering box kit didn't fit through the steering box itself, they were bigger than the holes!!!!....anyone else had these problems?? not being a TG basher at all btw, just something I noticed. when they come through and get my flat pitman arm to me overnight air by tuesday then all will be well *hint, hint*
And more to come!

Well sure as hell didnt get my flat pitman arm on tuesday...came in yesterday morning finally...had to push back the shipping date to monday because of it
Been working mostly on other parts of the truck this week, but got the spacers in yesterday along with a set of speed bleeders:

Steering shaft extended, used a piece of 3/4" I/D tube to sleeve /extend it:

Brake lines run on passenger side (doing drivers today and hopefully will drive it today after I get em bled!!!! )

And the old exhaust that's going to get modified to work around the new rear shocks:

Well back at it, only 2 more days to get it perfect before she leaves!!

Got the brakes all finished up and speed bleeders installed, got too cold tonight though so going to get them bled first thing and go for a drive!!!
Had to run a new hard line on the drivers side because the TG brake line didnt like the factory one and wouldn't thread on, turned out alright I think, doesn't have the spiffy loops like the o.e one though.

Steering all installed and torqued in with new flat pitman arm:

not ride height btw, full droop for now at least until I redo my spring clamps
and a bit more in the other thread!

91_toyota - Haha thanks man! nah the old 3.0 is happy as a clam, she got a new timing belt and all the goodies and roars like a lion now!
Got it done in time, test drove it for the first time at about 2:45 AM on Sunday morning the day before it was supposed to go out (more on that in a minute) and it drives like a dream, smooth, quiet and stable...a bit of body roll but it settles down and corners nicely and is vibration free up to 80 miles per hour with no vibration what so ever...only problem is steering wheel is upside down
F-250 shock towers and Bilstein 5150s:

Final stance, ended up about 2" taller up front for now so will have to figure that out, though the springs have already settled a bit so i reckon it'll end up fine

And a bit of a problem that had to be fixed last minute...shackle hit the body mount under compression:

Out with the old, in with the new! New Exhaust too to accommodate the rear shocks:
From this:

To this:

No more pics after that, took those Sunday afternoon before had to go inside and help my amazingly, helpful wife finish packing all of our other stuff!! Got the body mount fixed and a coat of paint on everything though and had it sitting there waiting to be picked up on Monday only to hear....They weren't picking it up till Thursday!! WTF, so I updated all contact info again including my pop's as we were leaving Tuesday morning so he'd be the one meeting the shipper. Well Thursday rolls around and.................NO PICKUP!!!!!! GRRRRRRRRRRRRR, well apparently they'd cancelled for some BS reason and now a week and half after the pickup date it's still sitting in pop's driveway in washington and we're vehicle less here in san juan....End of story - NEVER USE TOTAL CAR SHIPPING!!!!!! USELESS, as my aussie wife says "They're ed in the head!"
More in the other and to come one the truck gets here (if it ever does)
