Let me know whats up!

Honestly though, i don't know if im ready to try to tackle the rubicon.
My buddy went a couple weeks ago and broke, not even that far into the trail.

We have similar setups, but his is ifs.
He was telling me that he needs gears badly, and he was riding the clutch all day.

Still let me know, ill seriously think about it!

Nice truck! You don't see many of these with the 3" TG front, welcome to the club!

You should do fine on the rubi, I did it a few months ago in my runner, similar setup as yours. I did not break one thing! It did great! Just, make sure you have good spotters who know what they are doing.

I posted a trip report. Other than that, still sitten in the carport. I am planning to build a new bed for it soon. When that starts I will be posting it in here.

I have been thinking about the bed, and I have decided to keep the bed but going to bob it. Anyone have any good advice on or bobbing it. I know there is another section on it, just thought that I would ask here, since it is my truck and this will be my build up thread...lol....

That would be be awesome!!!! Do you recommend anything special that would help out. I have the welder, cutoff tool, sawsall and even a jig if needed. When would be able to help out. My wife and daughter come back tonight so this weekend and next week are out of the question. Maybe next weekend??

Just make sure all your lines are straight, Mine werent to straight and my tailgate would have had to "bend" to close. Got that fixed, my bob isnt the prettiest thing but it was my first.

And mike gave me some really good tips, he should be able to help you and get er done..

DUDE !!! Dove tail it while your at it, I thought about doing mine while it was chopped up but didnt, and now regret it.

Good luck, Cant wait to see..

Idk man. Its kind of hectic time right now.

Got to try to finish my buddys truck for the marlincrawler roundup in september.
Helping my dad move into his new house too.
schools about to start as well.

We could organize a better time in a bit, or you can just do it yourself, but another set of hands would be ideal.

Here is what we have done in the past.

Firstly, decide on how much you want to take out of the bed.

2) Take a poster board, that you could pickup from any arts/crafts store or the dollar tree. This functions as a flexable straight edge for making lines.

3) disconnect the tail light wires and any other wires that might get cut.

4) after the lines are drawn, i start by using a cuttoff wheel and cutting off the back part of the bed first.

5) cut off remaining section of the bed and discard metal.

6) bring the tail-gate section that you cut off to the freshly shortened bed, and line it up. Tack weld the upper bed rails first so it holds in place.

7) start going to town tacking your bed together, make sure you alternate where you are welding constantly so you don't warp the metal.

8) after you feel you have everything tack welded, take out the angle grinder and start going to town on the welds. When it starts to get close to the metal, after most the welds are ground down, i perfer to use a flapper disc to finish the grinding.

9) go over all the seams and make sure you didn't miss any welding spots.

10) do the body work, and call it good!

I probably missed something, but im running off less than 3hrs sleep so im pretty tired. Let me know if you have anymore questions.

I will let you know when I am gonna do it. The time isn't set in stone yet. I have been reading up on it, doesn't seem that big of a deal. The part that is gonna suck the most is the tack welding. Anyway, I think that I will be going to the round if I am here.
