Question: 3.4L & SAS conversion from Tacoma to Pickup
I have read several reviews on the 3.4 swap and I have already committed to this conversion by purchasing the donor motor and all needed accessories. My question revolves around a possible sas conversion that is on my radar. Could this be done at the same time as the motor swap, and eliminate the need to swap the tranny and transfer case. I've seen that trail gear makes a solid axle package on their web site for a Tacoma; I've pondered the possibility of putting together an IFS eliminator kit with a solid axle kit for a Tacoma. In theory this would allow the current motor, tranny, and transfer case arrangement to work in my 95 pickup without major modifications (outside of the ifs eliminator kit). I know that I would still have to be creative with the exhaust.
Am I way off base with my assumptions; has anyone heard of this being done, or any opinons?

Do you know of any major modifications outside of what is needed for the sas? Will the current tranny/T-case cross member (location) accept the 3.4's setup? Are there any foreseeable road blocks?
I know that the kits required are a little $$$ and I would hope that they would eliminate the need for custom fabrication (or keep it to a minimum). I'm trying to get a warm feeling that this idea will work as expected before I throw so much money at it.
