Need verification on front spring hanger position and shackle angle please

1986 Toyota Pickup 4x4 with Trail Gear 5" HD springs and 5" shackles. Spaced the front hanger 3/4" forward from the middle cross member. It looks weird to me. Just want to make sure it's right. It's tacked in right now. I'm going to try to run 37's eventually. Also, my shackle angle on the passenger side doesn't look that bad if 10 degrees will settle to 20, but the driver's side is near vertical. I'm putting an OM617 Diesel engine in the truck in the next month or two, so I'm expecting that to really squat the front end down. I just want to know if my angles are on the right track.
Only other question is, does anyone know about moving the front hanger forward and what it does to the steering box? Do I need to move the steering box forward, too? Do I have to do it? When the diesel goes in, I'm upgrading to a power steering box, so moving it forward then won't bother me, but I'd like to leave mine where it's at right now.

Thanks guys!

So right now there is no engine in the truck?
Weird the shackle angle is different side to side.
I would pm scottyC @ addicted off road, he has done tons of these..

Yea the stock 22R is in. But the OM617 weigh about 200-300 lbs more. And I forgot to mention that I'm building a heavy duty front winch bumper.

personally, its a good rule to always put the rear hangar tube as far forward in the body mount as possible. Always a lot more adjustability with the front hangar.

youre fine just gonna ride a lil stiff.

Drew- I aired the tires up equally today. One was almost flat and I hadn't noticed it in the dark. The springs are at equal height. The perches are level with each other.

I really despise TG's instructions. Although they're better than AP's. It said to center the stencil in the body mount. I used to think you were supposed to slide it forward until I saw their picture. TG says center the hole. AP says slide it forward.

best to do your research first, and theres plenty of SAS's with TG springs on here to figure out how to best do yours :/

Ya there's only 6 pages on here. I think I've read through most of the swaps that pertain to my truck. Not a whole lot of 5" lifts going on though.

Interested in what you eyed up with on this. Im putting the 5in springs on this wknd and want to do it right the first time. The guys I've talked to at trail gear assured me to center the frame tube jig and mount the front hanger 3/4" forward. Anybody else saying different??? Its a 92 pu ext cab v6 with a tg front bumper and winch.

It's not done yet. Glad I got the SAS done when I did though. We got plenty of snow here now and temp went from avg of 60's to avg of 20's. I'm waiting till it warms up to get my diesel and bumper and winch on for it to level out. What I would mention though, is yes, move the front hanger forward 3/4". Then call Trail Gear and ask them about sliding the rear frame tubes all the way forward. That seemed to be the general consensus on their forums, and that's also what All Pro's kit instructions say to do.

I will give them a call in the morning to pick their brains some more on it. I think im for sure moving the front hanger forward 3/4" but it's still up in the air on the rear mount I guess. Anybody else have any input on the 5 inch springs?

PUT THE HANGAR TUBE AS FAR FORWARD AS YOU CAN IN THE BODY MOUNT!

this is repeated over and over and over everywhere.

I can't really tell from the pictures, because they are all at the same anle from the driver side, but it looks like the driver side of the hanger is sticking out a little more than the passenger side.

Just in case anybody wants more info or verification on this I ended up mounting my front hanger 3/4" forward and moving my frame tubes as far forward as possible. The shackle angles turned out perfect so this is what I would recommend to anyone doing the 5" springs. I will be posting up a build thread as soon as I finish up in a few days. Took lots of pics throughout the process.
