My '94 4Runner SAS
#27
Hehe thanks Marc.
NC-B17A, don't waste your money on IFS if you've a little hope in someday doing a SAS... You'll regret as I do now!
If I ever knew that a SAS was possible in Spain I'd have been wheeling my truck stock + M/T tires and later SAS it... Hehehe

New pics from yesterday
Rear caliper brackets are finished and the calipers are mounted

The T-Case brake disc is in place:

Nothing more at the moment. We're working in the new exhaust line, rear brake lines and the crossmember that supports both fuel tanks.

New pics.
This is the crossmember we're making for holding the dual fuel tanks and the UHMW PE skids we'll make for them and the T-Case.

This is the first section of the new exhaust, this bolts to the manifold out of the turbo.

Exhaust must have a flexible section, specially on a diesel. It's lightly smaller than the tube so we made a bit of modification so the gases flow isn't very affected.

First section tacked

Welding the pipe to the flexo

It gets hot hehe

Closed cuts

Angle grinding the welds

Nice! It's all 316 SS, 70mm ID with constant-radious bends

Here in place

We're going to mantain the LSPV as it's good to have for the legalization project and we're modding it to work with the new rear axle flex

New front brakes had sections

We welded a little braket for holding the brake lines in place

And the rear brake lines

Still unfinished

Maybe I'll have more pics in some hours.

I've new pics hehe
Look what nice flanges for the exhaust my friends did.

The front is ready and painted

The shocks have to be 5150's but TG send those. I'll be receiving the 5150's soon

Steering damper is put too

I like the rear shock angle. Maybe we'll have to move a bit up the upper shock brackets

There are no bump stops as I want to put airbags in the rear

This is the dual shock bracket

This is the intake manifold. New and old one. One of the old manifold's "ears" broke when we were unbolting it to gain access to the injection pump.

I've also bought a Momo Champion steering wheel. In Spain you can put an up to 10% smaller than stock steering wheel without having to legalizate it. From 10 to 15% you must legalize it, so I'm adding this to my engineer project.
Today is non working day here but my friends are working in the truck. They hope to start today the engine and get the thing moving tomorrow.

More awesome work - I am jealous as hell!
The way you've mounted the rear shock brackets - won't that put a lot of stress on the joint at full flex? Would there be less stress if the shock ends were rotated 90deg?
But then again, you have the nice truck, mines almost stock - way to go David!

I don't think so... The axle travels backwards when flexing due to the shackle... It's true that it also rotates over itself, but less, and that's why the shocks have bushings hehe

Hahahaha hi Jordi
Tomorrow we expect to test-run the truck. Then we've to redo the front bumper brackets, design the rear bumper with tire carrier, mount the intercooler and make the fender flares... I think it's almost all...
