I need your expertise!
I have set aside some money to do a SAS. I have no idea where to even start. I do know that I will have to take it somewhere to have the work done. I guess I would like to have a list of necessary parts that I would need. Also, if anyone knows of a good place to get new axles I could use the info. Of course I want to upgrade. I have a 89 runner with a six inch lift, and 33" tires and the tiny stock axles can't handle it very well. I can't get the damn thing over 65 on the interstate.
PLEASE HELP!
P.S. Also understand the I am a Noob to the whole SAS

Of course they are going to tell you to search the forum. The not getting over 65 part is due to gearing not the axles. Is a SAS what you really need? If you are going to pay someone to do the work you are looking at a nice chunk of change. If more power is what you're looking for then regearing would be a cheaper option.

I agree that the gearing is the primary issue with the not going over 65. I guess thats what I ment by upgrade. I also need to do the Solid Axle Swap because the current axles have a ton of damage. I went in to have an oil change on the 4runner the other day, and the mechanic gave me a list of things that were wrong with the front and rear axles. Then he gave me a quote for $2,000. I figure I would rather invest that money into some after market Axles that are designed with Off Road in mind. "TWO BIRDS ONE STONE"
