Thumbs down FJ40 AXLE IN A 1st GEN MINI?

Hey guys i have a 1982 truck BONE STOCK except front lift shackles and been wanting to re-gear / lift / add high steer and power steering / all the bells n whistles. I have an opportunity to get a a front FJ40 Axle with the disc brakes and re-geared to 5.29's already for DIRT CHEAP. It seems to be the same width as my axle now. It came out of a running and driving 91 model P/U SAS Swap. it has the larger steering arms, drag link and everything with it as well (may even be aftermarket links i was told the truck had the ALL-PRO swap kit). Would this be a good axle to start with or just build my 8" mini axle? (stock open 4.10) Opinions please.

I think they are stronger/beefier.

I am building an FJ-62 front axle for my 87 4runner right now. I have already done my SAS, but am looking forward to the increased strength in the 9.5" diff. Although the axles are pretty much the same, they can all be upgraded to the RCV axles. The reason I went with the FJ-62 axle is because it came with disc brakes from the factory and is 3" wider to match my IFS width rear axle.
