Dana 44 ID
i got a dana 44 from this one guy on CList and he said its off a jeep WAGONEER but when i looked up the BOM it said its off of a 603685 JEEP 44 FRONT 1978-79 J10, J20, HONCHO, CHEROKEE WIDE TRACK
so how do i know what its actualy off of? whats the gear ratio on it? the date on the long tube says 3 12 8 55F or E i cant really tell... then the BOM# 603685-1
the ratio tag date says 05 55 2 again its vary hard to reed...
also in randome places after i took off the cover it had an H and a 6 or 9

It is a wide track axle off a wide track Cherokee or a jeep pickup (J10,J20, Honcho) The Wagoneers were not wide track. This is a wider version and those vehicles had fender flares and a wider stance unlike a Wagoneer. I used to own one myself. I bet you are reading that ratio tag wrong...but it may be unreadable.
