gotcha. I had it completely wrong in my head. I was thinking the 3" kit might give me 4-4.5" of lift over stock.

So I guess I need to look for some 3" 80 series coils if I am planning that route.

I dont know what you guys did with your kits, but I have the 3" kit installed up front and am using the lc ome 860's and it will be sitting level. As far as the links go I am getting rid of the upper passenger side link and beefing up the upper drivers side and extending all me links about 14 to 16 inches. with a linked rear a swar bar should be used if your driving on the street.

How did you guys get 6"s of lift from a 3" kit? I yeilded about 5 1/2 inches the I still plan on it settling atleast an inch.

I'm really torn here......to me this a rare treasured truck and I'd love to find one not rusted to hell!
Its already been well used and now being cut up.
Now I know how people felt when they used to see some of my Pontiacs at the car shows......I did things "right" and clean but they were still highly modified prized collector cars.
On the other hand I firmly believe in modifying for the owners needs and desires.

I guess it only sucks because I want one myself!

The 860's seem to be about 3/4" higher then the 862's. The spring rates are also a little bit different. (860= 220 lbf/in, 862= 240 lbf/in) I'm no spring expert but I don't think that would yield it to make that much of a difference.

Regardless let me know how it turns out once you get those springs installed.

Thanks alot......just another reason to hate myself for not staying in Cali and being in the wrong "rustbucket" haven region (Northeast)!

Although I bet that window is hard to find and not cheap!

i have allpro 6" springs (2nd set) the first settled flat and I had about 4" total over stock.... so with the 1.5" drop they settled to about 2.5" instead of 6". very common on these springs

coils = tippy on the trail and street. I had ome's cant remember what ones but got about 5" of rear lift

I thought about leafs but I was soo unstable that I wanted to adjust it so went with coilovers, then swapped to air shox with a 3-link rear

If I did it over again I would go leafs in the rear and saved my $$ for a boat or porsche........

Yeah, I though about air shocks but I just don't know enough about them to really have given it much thought. How do they work for ya on the street.

Oh and my 4runner isn't my daily driver but I do not have a tow rig either so I do drive it on the street.

Have you guys thought about some rear lift coils from Slee

You'd definitely have to re-work the links but they should yield enough lift and have the added spring rate.

Then maybe do a panhard drop bracket on one side and the All-Pro lift bracket at the axle.

LOL we got them till 93 in Canada, mine is a 05/93 production and dark grey green. Only seen one other and it was stock, I can care less what others think I have built this truck for my self.

A note about the springs seating in I have herd that and I hope it happens. I would love to see about 2" of settle in the front.

jeremy

p.s. word of warning do not weld on the bump stops right off the bat like I did, you will be cutting them off to make them shorter. There also very hard when you do bottom out.

Really I'm just jealous because I like them so much and would buy that one in Chico in a hot second.

I bought a '93 extra-cab 4x4, v6, 5spd last year one-owner 59,500 original verified miles and have been modifying it to my tastes ever since.
alot of guys think that I ruined it but, I love it and can't see me ever selling it.

Yeah, sorry.. it is a slow buildup. I kind of lost interest for a while but I have started working on it again. Here are some pics.. they are almost up to date.. I still have the alignment to do and plumb the breaks as well the pass side shock hoop.

(Sorry for the bad pics to come.. camera stopped working so cell phone pics ftw!)

-----------

I am still planning to keep coils in the rear. I'm going to wait about a month so the springs can settle then I will go with some new coils(maybe a spacer for short term) and I might link it differently.. regardless I will have to do something custom with the panhard.
