IS it possible to put a 2000 Tacoma 5 speed trans/transfer case into a solid axle swap set up on a 93 4runner ?
Thinking about doing the 3.4 s/ced swap on the 22 re sas set up can't find any info with search button also will the 4 cylinder rear work to house a Taco 3rd? Thanks for any info

Using a stock toyota front axle, no.

using a drivers drop Dana44, maybe. the factory toyota SFA is a pass side drop, and the tacoma uses a drivers drop case.

Marlin does make an adapter to bolt on a gear driven pass drop case to the tacoma trans.

Also, the Tacoma uses an 8.4" diff (though its actually its just an 8") but the Tacoma diffs use extra support fins that make so it wont fit in a stock 8" housing.

So I can't use the e-locker in the 4cylinder rear? so I guess that means I stick to the original plan and do it all in the 3.slow

If it is an E-locker rear, it can be made to fit in the 93' housing (there is no difference in housings between 4 and 6 cylinder). I retrofitted an E-locker into my 91 truck housing which is the same, minus the suspension brackets. There are several writeups on the cutting you need to do to the housing to fit the e-locker. From what I hear about the 3.4 swaps, and having owned a 3.0V6 in my truck, I'd say do the swap. You'll be much happier, my new 3.0---turbo diesel is quite the upgrade from the v6.
