1953 Ford

The axles from a 1953 Ford, i know the rear is a Dana 44, is the front as well? Is that a good or bad year to get? I know some Dana 44's have this or that that's weak or inferior, what about that year?

Sorry, i don't have any other information. I just emailed the owner, asking him/her alittle bit more about them.

(research for if/when my IFS fails) ;-)

Ehhh if your not going 60's stay with toyota axles. Hell you could save yourself some money buy puttin chromo's in the rear and longs in the front. Then your yota axles are just a little under what a 60 will hold.

Welll, the shafts anyways - to get into 60 strength range, you're gonna have to gusset the hell out of the housing and even then you're stuck with a 8" ring gear (vs. -what- 11"? in a 60?).

But yes, the Toy axle is already as strong as a 44, and can be made much stronger.

Yeah best of both worlds would be Toyota axles from an FJ80 (or is it 60)?

They have like a 10 point something ring I do beleive.
