so i noticed in looking for parts that there is a "car" and a "truck" version of the 12 bolt axel. I gather that the car is a 8.75 inch where the truck is an 8.8. so the question is , is there a difference in the gears and spools/lockers that go in the housings?

 

i have a 12truck axle in the rear of my 4runner and my friend said the majpr difference is ring gear and with the truck its way stronger and you have more gear choices
