Thanks for the offer, Austin -- but I'll be alright if I'm in Seattle. (Bothell, actually, but whatever.) I'm usually around a couple times a year and would love to see the great Washington outdoors by way of trail for a change. I'm just itchin to catch a ride with one of you slackers that ignored me back when I was out there in April.

So,
any solid plans for that weekend? If there is already a run going on we could join up with them...?

How far in advance do you guys normally make the plans? Just curious because (call me a worry wort) but I'm used to the SE4RJ guys that have a 84598730978943 page thread and we know well in advance what is going on. Basically I just want to make sure I don't get there and nobody is there to shoot. I know there are a lot of you WA guys on here and I'd hate to miss out!

I am not sure about anyone else but I put runs together on a whim. There is a thread on WATTORA but it seems to have died for now. I may start a thread on another local board that has a wide range of vehicles and driver skill or are you trying to keep it geared towards Toyota's?

What do you need for filming? I am not sure how much footage or what type of terrain you want but I have three areas in mind that should yield some good video. First, Evan's Creek because it is close and has varied terrain. It is mostly in the trees with poor light but has some good photo ops. Second, would be Reiter Trails, which is another area that is close and has varied terrain but is more like a huge play ground with rocks and tight treed trails. Last but not least is Funny Rocks and Moon Rocks which is two very different rock formations, within a 1/4 mile of each other, out in the middle of nowhere (2 hours form Auburn) and can make for some more of the hardcore footage if you so desire.

Mark and I should get going on a interary so we can post the who, what, when and wheres.

PS. I will not be going to TOOL on the 27th.

Sorry to hear about TOOL (ffffew!)

I do want to keep it mostly yotas, this video is really about yotatech and I want to stay as close to the YT community as possible. The TTORA guys are basically family and I am actually going to be going to a ttora event in CA so that could work too. I'm going to be into getting interviews with people as much if not more than wheeling. I do want to get both of each place and will be getting interviews out on the trail, while driving etc etc.... anyone can see videos of trucks off road, I want this one to be primarily about this community while at the same time show stills and video of each place showing what each place has to offer.

Very cool! I think we should get what you need from those areas I mentioned. I will talk with Mark and get some times for the events nailed down and get them up on WATTORA and here.

I'm a late commer to the thread, as well as the online community but I'll be sure to keep those days free on my calendar. I'll be eager to get my FJ Cruiser out on some trails, it might even make for some entertaining footage. In addition to that I'm looking forward to meeting more of the local enthusiast crowd.

Ben and I communicate pretty fast.

We have our official locations!

Saturday, August 26: Evan's Creek

Sunday, August 27: Funny Rocks/Moon Rocks

People are welcome to come out for one or the other or both!

One part of choosing these locations is that the step-off point will be the same. For those that have been on YT or WATTORA sponsored runs, you'll know the phrase "Safeway in Enumclaw".

Time specifics will be given later, but we're probably looking at a depature time of 9am on Saturday and 8am on Sunday.

To minimize the driving for those coming out for both events, Evan's Creek has camp sites available and Enumclaw has a couple of hotels around. edit: also look in "Auburn" (about 15 miles NW of Enumclaw) for hotels.

Examples of runs from these locations appear on various sites. I have some up here, with links to more:

Evan's Creek:

Funny Rocks:

This should be an AWESOME time...

WOOOHOOO!!!!!!!

Yeah, midiwall.com fell out of DNS. It's been over a week, I'm pretty pissed.

What's up? Were you looking to reference the pics or?

*BUMP*

Date: Saturday, August 26th
Time: 8:00am

Meeting Location: Safeway in Enumclaw

The plan is to hit "The Rocks" (Funny/Moon rocks) so Austin can get some footage and interviews. It should be a fun day.

Funny/Moon Rocks is on the east side of the summit, if you're coming from the Yakima area, we can meet you over there.

Date: Sunday, August 27th
Time: 8:00am

Meeting Location: Safeway in Enumclaw

The plan is to hit Evan's Creek ORV for some trial ridding. This may not be a suitable run for people who fear body damage.
If you have questions about either of these areas, ask them here!

We need a headcount of people so that we don't leave anyone behind on either day.

PLEASE post up into this thread if you're coming!!!

I know that some folks are looking to just be a passenger, so if you have an open seat, speak up!

So far, I know of:
GRNTACO
midiwall
Please add yourself to this list and requote it as you respond. If you're not on the list when we're standing around the Safeway parking lot, we won't wait for you!
