P.S. Brett, we'd love to have ya man! It won't be the same without you at Windrock!
I know, let's see if Brandy's folks keep the dogs and I have to take her to B'Ham anyway and I can crash at Docs house-it's looking more possible.

Just a thought, if you and Joe are trying insanely hard stuff, are there going to be bypasses for me and Doc? Or are the really hard trails like Rattlerock-where we can park on the main road and watch?

As far as running the hard stuff, etc. I'm game for it all as usual. I haven't been there in quite some time, and the last time we were there some of the medium difficulty trails were much more challenging than they used to be. We can always decide when we get there, and there's always fun little things to play on during the course of the day. Most of them have bypasses, and some none of us will run, such as rattlerock, although Joe could probable run little rattlerock.

Are the medium difficulty trails on par with trail 6 at Tellico? If not, are they harder or easier?

There's some a lot easier, some the same, and some harder. There's a wide variety of trails there, for sure.

I'd love to go, but i'm going to be working on Austin's rig, and got to start getting these bumpers built . Got to save the trip money for builds right now. Only got a few more mounths to get it all done before the kid gets here :pat: . By the way, does anyone know what the lenght to lift ratio is for building spring shackles is? Want to lose my addaleafs and just go with longer shackles to soften up the rear end and get alittle more fex out of it.

I'm with Brett on this one - I love to go but do not want to get insane.
I don't have a locker and Brett's is not working. I also am not terribly modified - 1" body lift and the Downey rear HD coils and I am still on 31's

Brett give me a call when you know that you are coming - work
1-800-648-8535 Mon - Wed this week until 5:00
Cell phone 865-659-7804 - I'll save you some TURKEY wings !

I've never been to windrock - I do know where it is though.

Doc and Brett,

There's a lot of stuff to play on at windrock, and neither of you have anything to worry about. We'll ride whatever we all want to ride as a group, and if there's anything you don't want to ride, you can bypass with no trouble. There should be some great views too, with most of the leaves already off the trees. It's a lot more scenic place than Tellico.

Joe, if you want to ride some harder stuff, there's definitely some there that is easily accessible and fun stuff. We'll challenge each other, I'm sure.

Thats cool! - If my budget allowed me to modify quicker _ would be right there with youon the harder stuff. I've been looking at a 3rd generation with a rear electric locker that is for sale - this would be my new daily driver. and then my current runner could be a play toy.

Chris - ask Paul if he has any time - I need some welding done - my sliders
are in pieces and need to be assembled and mounted to the truck. If I can afford his time. maybe Friday ? I am off and could rearrange anything else.

Looking forward to this whole weekend but especially Saturday. Austin is even picking my trailer up in Charleston and bringing it to Asheville - I'll go get it Sunday Morning - can't break anything Saturday !!!!!!!!!

Well, I'm not out yet, but it's very likely that I won't be there. I haven't even had time to fix my leaking axle seal. I can run w/o the locker, but the seal needs fixing. I'll see what I can get done tomorrow-hopefully I ca sneak out of work a little early and fix it. Either way, I'll give yaull a final answer tomorrow night.

If it makes you feel any better, I'll be wheeling with my spare tire again!! I hope you can make it Brett!

Hey Doc, drop Paul a line and see what his schedule is. He's definitely planning to be there Saturday, but I'm not sure what he schedule looks like on Friday. his cell phone is 803-1665 and his house is 693-5108. You want to buy my 3rd gen 4runner?

I'll give Paul a call - thanks I am not serious about the runner just yet.
Just looking - If I buy the 3rd generation it will be my daily driver and bling mobile. The second generation will get all the play time and modifications.

I am seriously considering leaving my job after 22 years and going into business for myself - everybody thinks that it is a good idea and I am confident in myself - but it is a huge step ! I have not had a car payment in 10 years - not looking forward to the booklet.

Hey Brett - no worries just let me know - you are always more than welcome. Brandi has my cell phone number - gave it to her at Crawfords.
My wife and I may hike with you at Christmas.

That's outstanding! What do you plan to get into?

I would highly recommend not to get one, but that's just me. I will never have another new car or a car payment ever again. It is so costly, strains the fun time, etc. Not that you didn't already know all that!

Going to be a full time mobile marine technician. I've worked for Sea Ray for over 22 years - I am a trained and certified Mercruiser technician and
know boat systems inside and out. I am going to start as a full time mobile marine technician - fixing and repairing or replacement of any systems.

Basically cruisers with twin engines, air conditioning, generators, electronics
etc. I have been running a side business called After Hours Boat Repair
for over 10 years - I alrady have 75 - 100 regular customers - that is why you see me pulling my boat all the time - it is loaded with repair equipment and I get to fish between stops !

Still scary stepping away from a secure paycheck ! My wife works for the same company so my health insurance will remain the same. Gotta try it - I am 47 and if I don't do it now - it may never happen.

Thanks for the encouragement / your comment mirrors everybody else that
know me. Still scary - but my employer would welcome me back if it did not work out. As far as Sea Ray Boats go - I am a walking encyclopedia.

The weather does not look good for Saturday - I don't have a winch and neither do you. It does not look like my sliders will get on either.
Still we will play it by ear. I will talk to you Friday afternoon - we are gone to Crossville and Sparta tomorrow.

Happy Turkey Day !!!!!!! We have much to be thankful for !

True, but you'll only be 30 minutes from home and you know that I'll have another spare anyway. I'm going over to Toyota today to get an axle seal and try to get it in tonight-hopefully it will be in stock.

Doc you need this 3rd gen, looks like a great deal, hell I thought about buying it:

I'm with Chris though, if you start your own business, I wouldn't buy another ride right away. Even then, I won't buy a vehicle unless I can pay cash for it b/c payments suck. As far as owning your own business, I say do it if you have the customer base, and from talking to you at the last get together it sounds like you do.

I am just dreaming about a newer runner - the payment thought stops me.

The business will be a sucess - My name has been broadcasted over the United States and even Internationally for years. I am the troubleshooting Corporate expert without a degree, but I have enough experience that the college boys work for me. Once the word gets out that I am in business personally - the business will come.

The beauty to the new adventure is that I already have the tools and resources available and will have very little overhead plus the customer base that will grow simply because of word of mouth. If the payment book happens - I can write most of it off through the business. I see lot's of benefits to the whole idea - plus I get to fish a little everyday !!!!!!
