Windrock, TN - March 19th!

I'll be going on the 19th with some local guys, and I'd sure love to have some Yota friends to join us. The daily permit fee is $15.00, and we'll be meeting in the main parking lot at 8:30 am.

For those coming from out of town, there's multiple hotels in Oak Ridge, which is only a few minutes from Windrock.

There will be a full day of riding, from mild to somewhat aggressive depending on the vehicles that show up.

Anyone interested?

Chris

I understand completely, Ernie! We would love to have ya, though. If you're checking directions, check them to Oliver Springs, TN.

I won't make this one, I won't have enough break in miles on the clutch and gears yet.

Not yet, timing belt is done. Diffs are all apart, but gears not installed, front gears aren't even here yet-they should be here tomorrow. Clutch is out, stock clutch disc didn't look bad at all, guess the pressure plate just didn't have the holding capacity that I needed. Flywheel had a couple of small hot-spots, so it's at the machine shop getting a very, very lite resurfacing. Just sent Steve some $$, so my panhard drop bar could get on the way next week. I may get the bodylift stuff, what do you think, bodylift? Dumb question, I know what you're gonna say!

My 1" body lift and drivetrain lift stuff is going back to Roger this week.

As far as you doing a body lift, if you don't ever plan to go to bigger tires or doing a drivetrain lift, I wouldn't do it. I did it because I could achieve a completely flat undercarriage and run larger tires at the same time.

The only reason I would do it is so I could disconnect my front swaybar. That's the only reason. $120 or so with shipping plus the time to install it only equaling a little articulation, probably not worth it. Wonder how much more wheel travel I would gain by disconnecting the front swaybar?

I ran with the swaybar disconnected when I had 32's and with it connected now that I have 33's, I don't remember noticing much of a difference on the trails at Tellico.

I understand Brett! I know when I have my addco swaybar connected I think I lose somewhere between 1-2 inches of front end travel. But, I'm not sure of the stock swaybar. If you don't notice a difference, don't spend the money. If it was me though, I'd try to maximize as much flex as I could with our front ends, because they pretty much suck anyway.

I'm sorry to hear that Brett! I hope you get it worked out soon, so you don't have much down time. You're lucky to have a second vehicle to drive, ya know!

what time will this thing end? and will the trails be hard core? All i have right now: all pro spacers, warn hubs, and tbars cranked. yeah or neah? and one more question, my rear shocks havent been replaced yet. Will it hurt them if they are the only things limiting my suspension droop? thanks a bunch

You may have to winch some, but what fun is it if you don't push your limits, right?

Why are you bottoming out so badly?

in most cases the shocks are the limiting factor of the rear suspension,so if the question is will it hurt the shocks, mine still work fine and i have lifted a tire many times!! as far as winching goes, there will be more than one truck (mine included) that will be more than happy to help you out if you get hung up!!! later

the reason im asking is because I still have the stock shocks on the lifted rear, so they dont have much more to go thanks for the help though! also let me state my minor mods and tell me if i can still come.....cranked t-bars, 3 inch allpro spacer lift rear, warn manual hubs, 31" grips, and some skill. whaddya think? It may seem small, but ive actually taken it some pretty crazy places that you wouldnt think it would make it i hope to join you guys
