Hey guys, haven't posted on this board in a grip, but getting antsy to hit up a trail this monday. I live up in fort collins and have already done kelly flats, which was allright but had some lame scenery i thought and after an encounter with a rattle snake i don't feel like going back. I have heard there are some trails up near red feathers lakes that are pretty decent and its a nice area, does anyone know of anything?

I'm hoping to keep the round trip under 100 miles, so anything down highway 14 or up 287 near the lakes?

my truck is basically stock with some correction springs in the back and 31x10.50 duellers. The other truck im going with is an 02 tacoma with the factory electric locker, so i'm not too worried about trails up here as i've heard there is nothing terribly difficult.

Crystal Mt and moody hill are a couple fun ones. They are located up the buckhorn Canyon past Masonville, probably about 30 min from Ft Collins.

 

cool thanks hopefully i can get up there monday. i just found out i need a new carburator body for my other car for a race on friday so time is kinda stretched tight right now.

I'm right there with ya. I just got in the Wells books, and Volume 2 has all the trails around the Fort Collins area. I jsut moved to Severance, Co, so let's definitely hoo up and ride sometime.

theres a good size group of people in your area (including Ric) that go wheeling like every weekend, you should go with them!

 

I definitely plan on it, but I'm still a couple of weeks out from having my truck ready to go and being completely settled in our new house, unfortunately. I can't wait, though.
