Wales and Ireland Trip Report
Made it home today finally after 12 days of hiking, camping, driving, and wheeling. I had an AWESOME time. It's been a while since I spent some quality time in the hills camping. Wales and Ireland were both beautiful! It's really really hard to get away from people there but it was better than what I had been doing. I slept in the back of my 2nd Gen for all but 2 nights of the trip. I had my coleman airmattress. Everything else was in Rubbermaid boxes and I would just take them out and throw them under the truck for the night to sleep. A cooler fits fits right next to one of the back doors BTW. I spent the first 3 days scrambling up some wicked rock climbs to a couple of the highest peaks in this country. Hooked up with Luke and his brother and we did some great running on some forestry roads and played in a quarry for a while. After they left I made a run down the coast of Wales south which was an awesome drive. Jumped on the Ferry last Monday which BTW the one I was on is the 2nd largerst car carrying ferry in the world. The first biggest they also run. Thing was massive with a mall, casino, cinema.... the works. The crossing took 4 hours. Landed in Rosslare Ireland and took off driving.. What a wild place to drive in. Roads are tiny and really rough. On Tuesday I met up with Steve (windybloke on here) and we went and did some wheeling in the hills. I just bout got stuck in a peat bog but made it out with a little rocking. Wednesday I drove all day across Ireland to Kildare where I met up with CMAR He showed me some of the local stuff and we played around on a little hill. I tweaked the hanger on my tailpipe and flattened my Borla tip. Took the pliers to it and it's good as new now. I camped out in that field we were in and headed South on Thursday through the Wicklow mountains just South of Dublin. Again was another beautiful drive! I stayed outta Dublin because the whole point of this trip was to get away from it all and Dublin is a city of over 1 million. On Thursday night I went to the local pub in the port town and had a few too many Guinesses for those that like Dark beer this stuff was AWESOME!! Ive had Guiness here in the UK and it's not the same as when it comes straight from the source. I got tore up and had to get on the Ferry at 7am Friday morn with one heck of a hangover..haha
Drove for 5.5 hours yesterday after getting off the ferry and met back up with Luke in his hometown and stayed the night with him. 2 more hours driving today and I'm home. I just got done cleaning out all my camping stuff from the Runner. I was impressed living out of it for 12 days and it wasn't bad at all. I will do it again for sure. I took 9 rolls of film on 35mm so I'll have to wait till I get it back to post pics. Overall I had a great trip..it's just what I needed!

Metalica ya I have met some great people over here and it sucks because I probably will never see most of them again. I think I have Luke conviced to come do some NW wheeling with me though
As far as that hill is concerned I guess CMAR hasn't learned yet that you only post pics of the things you did make it up..haha
He didn't get a pic of when I made it up the other end of that thing which was pretty gnarly and my 3 foot front wheel lift it took to even get into that hole. Anyways that grass was super wet and the departure angle was so steep I was afraid to stand on it until after my rear bumper had cleared. It needed much more of bump to get over that small hump than what I was willing to try with my truck 500 miles from home with the Irish Sea seperating me from the UK..haha Turning my pics in tomorrow should take 2 or 3 days to get them done.. (no such thing as 1 hour photo here) I'll post again with the pics
