I also saw that "Just Runs" club will be there from san diego also, and running a few trails opposite of the main TDS runs. They will be done by end of the day for the big raffle.

Matt- for a fire extinguisher, I would just get the smallest available one at walmart or homedepot. Then stash it someplace secure, and pass all the regulations

Is everyone dropping the dough for the club runs or is anyone doing their own thing. I'm saving up for my rear susp, every bit counts, so I'm out for the 60.00.

Also how long of a drive is it? 3 hours? from North County

Just got my locker in want to use the dang thing.

I picked up a 4lb (4A, 40BC) fire extinguisher last weekend from Home Despot for all of $30. Otherwise small ones can be had a Pep Boys or some other similar autoparts store.

I'm going to try to show up to this event w/ a bunch of Broncos and Tahoes on Sunday though commitments at work may keep me in OC.

Hey seth-
the san diego group "just runs" will be out there during tds and running a few different trails. They have a big sign they hang up by their camp.

or

Since you have the locker now, meet us for the carvacre run on sunday. It will be put to good use on that trail. Which kind did you end up getting?
marc started another thread about carvacre, so far him, mikey and probably me are going.

Rob- Sunday could happen. I'll see what's going down. I threw an Aussie locker in, I had Protrux do it, and I'm glad I did...I guess my pinion gear loosened up since I regeared a year and a half ago....it scored up my carrier. No real damage, but it needed to have the backlash set.

I had fun with the locker last weekend, big difference.

Found BruceTS, oooodled over his rear bumper for a bit!!! Mmmmmm

So uh, Bruce.... wanna make me one???

Also got to see the build-up, however it was mostly finished when I arrived on Saturday. I guess they did a lot more work then they thought they could on Friday, so Saturday was mostly odds & ends / cleanup work.

Mobbed LOTS of trails, some I probably shouldn't have gone on, came close to wiping out the left side of my truck, but squeeked by with 1" to spare. Damaged my Mall Lifted running boards (next to go) and I realized I really really really need lockers....!!!!

I also ran into someone else with a nice 04 Taco, but I forgot your name?! Sorry!!! We chatted about the lunchbox locker for the runner. Think I'm going to look into it more.

Also got to PEEP the new AllPro front bumper with intergrated winch for the Taco/Runner. Met John from AllPro, and I think I'm going to give him a call in a couple of weeks to see how the fab is coming.

Well, I had a BLAST, so I'm all full on the off road trips for a bit. Gonna go clean the truck tomorrow and dig the rest of the sand out from underneath the body.

Just got back, I never had a chance to go wheelin, from the minute I arriived, went to work helping out where I could. Did a lot of grinding and clean-up work, then fabricated the panels for the half-doors and a bunch of misc odds and ends. The total hours of work time. for the build-up was aprox. 15 hours. The plan was to complete the enitre job in a 24 hour period, but after getting most of the work done in under 10 hours, the decision to stop for the evening was made. That way the spectators could see the finishing touches done on Saturday. Total sales on tickets exceeded 1400 at the event for $5 you too can have a chance to win this turn key rockcrawler

Good Work. It's like Pimp My Ride, but for offroaders.

Desert Safari was awesome...

SoCalRunner, it was me you met with the 04 Taco. You have the cleanest runner I have seen around, it looked new to me! I want to see how you do with a locker and no running boards.

I was wheeling with Inland Jeep Freaks (my son has an XJ), and I surprised those guys with my basically stock Taco. We deadended one of the canyon washes when we hit a 3 foot rock ledge. All of the highly modified Jeeps cleaned it, and I was at the rear. They then looked at me like I had made a wrong turn on my way to the mall. So, I rolled up to the ledge, set the locker and then cleaned it, 1st pass, with no wheel spin and no stacking. You should have seen their faces!

Bruce, you guys really did an awesome job on the Crawler Truck. Everybody was drooling over it! I bought raffle 3 tickets, and would have bought more 'cept I needed gas money to get home!

It was my 1st time at truckhaven, and I am stoked.

Jim - Very cool! Yea, Harry G is my boss, and Frank K is his boss (prez of IJF). I would have loved to see you clear that ledge!!

Yea, I need lockers BAD and sliders too.

I'm going to see my buddy this coming weekend about some custom sliders. If I get some time, I'm going to roll down to Otay and see about getting a rear end off a taco or limited for my SR5.

Then I'm going to toss a lunchbox locker in the front (aussie) for a bit more traction.

Well, off I go! Hope to see you all next time!!

Sounds great, but...

for the front you want an LSD, best choice would be a true-trac. Lockers in the front cause understeer (truck wants to go straight when turning). Also, they tend to pull you downhill when you are rolling an off camber run. Noisy too. So, unless you are doing 100% rocks, LSD would be best.

Anyway, I am looking forward to the next run.
