I'm thinking that 4x4 is a necesity for this trail. And a locker would be very much recommended. It's gonna be hairy now....Unless trail maintenance has been done. I did it once like ayear ago with these guys and it was pretty tough then, I thought. I had just gotten my locker.
Not sure if I can make it that weekend. My boyfriend and his mom are having a candle party and I have to get all the tea lights and massage oils ready.

Is this the same place where we met you guys at on the way back or was that Corral Canyon?

yeah thats my usual stomping grounds. i used to live at the base of the canyon so i would spend a few hours on saturdays before work. it was closed most of the fall because of all the rains. its better now. it just tends to get crowded on some days. for anyone, if you go on the national parks web site, they have "county days" where admission is free to the canyon. just be carefull, theres only one entrance and exit. and bad drives tend to get stuck in the river. one time i had to wait for two hours to get out.

i think i might be in for either day just depends on what the wife has going on but i think i will able to go. corral canyon or carveacre sounds good to me. carveacre can be done without a locker but your life will be alot easier with one.... but 2wd on carveacre sounds like a long day pulling with a strap.

before last year and all the heavy rains that changed the trail, I ran the trail in 2wd and my rear locker.
I was checking if my buddy with a locked 2wd could do it, and he did.
I don't know now, since the rains really did make it alot more interesting.

I am up for Carveacre..Eric and Ryan have not done it yet. Matt has not done it in his new rig. After the recent rains it will be interesting. Maybe we can take that offshoot the left after Pancake rock?
