SoCal: Corral Canyon Apr 23

I'd like to get a group going to Carveacre for the day on April 23rd. I'm thinking to meet at 8am at the Carls Jr in Alpine and be at Carveacre at 9am. What do you guys think?

I've never been there before, but from talking to Josh, Carveacre can be done in a couple hours and then the people who could wheel a little longer could head to Corral Canyon or something.

You know, since it is only for the day, it could be moved to the 23rd (sunday) if that would work better for some people. It doesn't really matter to me, seeing as I don't have to ask anyone to go

Just want to say for those that have not done Corral Canyon that it is not super difficult. It can be done with a stock 4x4 as long as there are no running boards. Rock rails would help but not nec. Some off shoot trails get pretty wild but they are all bypassable.

Not sure but am gonna try to make this.

What about Carvacre instead?
If corral canyon is ok for stock trucks, carvacre after the rain would probably be more fun, especially if we take the left turn after pancake rock.

Never been to Carvacre. We should try that. Not to hijack your thread though Ryan.

I should be able to go Sunday, we're going to try the server upgrades again that Fri/Sat. If it works then Sun will be good, if not I'll be working Sun.

I've been wanting to do Carveacre for some time but was unsure if a locker was necessary. The last time I hiked it in January it looked pretty serious. Did anyone in the last run have open diffs? This no locker thing is getting real old real fast. Let me know - I'll go regardless and ride-along if necessary. Later

Marc or Rob need to chime in on this question. I have never been there. I do plan to do it without a locker.

Carveacre can be done without a locker, but like most places it is way easier locked up. I have not been on it for a while, and we have had some serious rain in that area.

This is right off Lyons Valley rd--it may be way worse now

there are some deep ruts

and rocks
