Glad you made it back ok. One more example of why solo wheeling is a bad idea. Next time, you can borrow my buddy:
Yeah, next time I'll borrow your buddy. When doing pumkin patch I know I consciously chose some harder lines and I went off the main path, which made it a tad harder, but it still has changed (I think). Now it still isn't a Hard rating, but it certainly isn't still the Easy trail it once was. Now I'm scared that you guys are going to go on it and think, "Damn Jared's a punk, this is easy". I had no problems with it now that I was lifted, but I think it would have more problems stock than I did last year. Now, the REAL hard trail is the one that breaks off to the right at the beginning of Pumkin Patch and follows about 100 yards - 300 yards south of Pumkin Patch in a gully, all the way to Tule wash. It doesn't have a name that I know of.

The devil's slide area I'm talking about is if you drive up devils slide on the face then take a left behind the hill. Back there, there are some pretty steep crawling sections that climb up and down the backside of the hill above devil's slide. I don't know if Rock Crawling was the best term to use, I know I've seen rockcrawling trucks up there, but they are really steep, mostly rock and dirt paths going up the hillside. It's not granite or anything, so maybe Rock crawling was a bad term to use.

It's all good Jared. You just got me exited. I had a friend tell em pumpkin patch trail was tough and it required 4WD, so we went on it last spring and it was cake. I was just hoping that the rains made it more interesting, which it sounds like it did.

I'm not doubting you, I'm just always interested in finding new spots to hit. Thanks for the info.

I got lost on the way to pumkin patch once. the trail went through a pretty tight canyon with some twisty sections. It basically dead ended in the middle of a crevace strewn area. I thought of that when you mentioned the 7 mile trail that took 3 hours. Maybe it goes through now?

That might be it. I wouldn't necessarily define it as "going through" but technically you can find a lot of ways to take a vehicle from Bank Wash to Pumkin Patch. Varying from easy (Tule Wash) to impossible (all the damn motorcycle gullies around there).

Now that I know it, I want to spend some more time up on top of Devil's slide and around the pumkin patch area, but this time with a partner. Maybe after the holidays!

I'd love to see how your long travel handles the horrible whoops down the main Shell Reef Expressway. The Donahoes worked wonders over stock, but I'd love to see the difference between them and long travel.

Wow! This is going to be a big group. I'm definantly going to try to make it. Also I might bring a buddy and his 86 pu, and his dad with a 80's jeep on 37's.
So was the YotaTech group going to join on the TTORA runs, or were we going to do our own? Sounds like they're doing laid back trails. I know there's a few nasty trails out there I'd love to run. That phone booth hill trail is always fun.

I'm gonna have to bail too. Mikey just called me and invited to his rad party. Oops, he told me not to tell you guys.

Really though, my truck won't be done either. My rear suspension is all apart. I'm gonna stop by today and if it is done, I'll come. But I seriously doubt it. I thought it would be by now. But I am to positive. Oh well. I'll definitely be out when this thing is buttoned up. damn.

Wow
sucks you guys cannot come out and play. Just added a 1/2" of lift to the front got it aligned and am gonna go pack my camping gear in the Runner. Better luck next time.

We should try to hit up Corral Canyon later this month or in Dec. Winter months are great there. Things are green and the temp and horse flys are more bearable. Corral Canyon is close and accomodates all levels of rigs. Could be the next San Diego day trip?

Headed out...
