Matt,
cool pics. We dont usually go so fast, but Rob needed to be somewhere. Next time we go out you should come. You and your taco did great.

This is also one of my favorite trails--close by, and can be done in 2 hours or so.

We will go again soon

MY BAD
I was setting a speedy pace, only because I had to be back in Santee, by 4:30, I usually would run that trail nice and slow. There are many spots for articulation photo shoots. I tried to get Marc to change the start time, but he had already posted the 2pm time.
I'm down to run Carvacre most any time/day with a little heads up. We don't even need that many people to go as long as there's 2 or more. Let me know when you're down to go again.

I like this photo of the "crew" helping him out. Nate(in red) looks particularly helpful

No biggy I was just nervous about getting left behind mostly because that was the first time I'd ever taken my truck on a trail that serious. I've been out in the dirt on camping trips in nowehere-land Mexico and had to do some stuff but nothing like that. Just some creeks and dry riverbeds.

There were spots going up the trail where I was driving blind because of the sun and my absolutely filthy windshield, inside and out. Nothing I did helped so I just kind followed Marc the best I could and had no clue what was under me.

I'll make sure next time to clean the inside of my windshield before I go on a run. LOL! My truck hasn't been cleaned in a couple months.

That was a fun repair. It feels good to accomplish something as a group. But I was trippin when Brandon started to open his door to test his brakes, it would have been interesting to see the jack go down, followed by the truck.

The Hi-Lift was clutch! It makes me think how woefully unprepared I am for emergency situations. All I have is my stock jack, a Maglite, and a hair tie!

However is there's anything that this run made me want to get more than new tires and wheels it was sliders. I was just grinding my teeth on some of those drops. I guess sliders would be good too so when I break down, knock on wood, you can lift me up!

That was the first thing I did, protect what I had, with sliders & skid, then lift it. It was actually cheaper that way and I could wheel it without worrying.

Well the toyota gets itself out of a bind once again!!! Thanks to mark for the help on the trail. Glad to see all of your fingers are still there after that spring shot out!!!

Anyways the suspenion i have is a custom made bilstein That is 2" longer than a saw or any other aftermarket shock. I get 11" of travel out of my front end which no other suspenion system will do with tacoma stock arm. I do run the ATS upper to clear my resivor fitting and get the extra travel. They been tested a bunch and S**t happens. What i think happened is the lower heim joint locked in an angeled position and when my truck went to compress it just buckled and snaped.

These coilovers really kick ass and it was just some bad luck that's all!!!

Heres the pic of the guy who rolled his Scrambler coming down (at an angle apparently) from Pancake rock on Carveacre.
