Don't sweat the small stuff - Come hell or high water we'll have a blast. (Full Moon that week) Talked to Marlin this morning as my crawler is full of ATF again and the front of the T-case is leaking pretty good. He advised they have finally found the cause for this dilemma so I'll be at his shop at 8AM sharp on the 21st - just in case it takes longer than expected. Marlin is one of a kind - he's one great man and the world will stand greatly diminished upon his leave, which I hope doesn't occur before my time.

Do we have an estimated kickoff time at the trailhead on the 23rd?

I'll get Richard to set the kick off time, meeting place in Truckee.

Last time I talked to him, he thought most of the snow would be gone by the time we get there.

It should be fine.

Well you guys I have done everything short of actually heading into the trail to make sure all will be well for us on those dates. I will admit to being abit worried about the current conditions however.....we are going in no matter what! One thing to keep in mind is that there are a bunch of NV & Tahoe folks chomping at the bit to go in so without a doubt someone other than us will have "broken trail". It will be wet in places for sure but nothing that we wont be able to do. Be prepared for high water levels in places (standing water-not a raging river).
As far as a meeting place I am going to ask Aimee what she think might be best then I'll post up here. The bottom line is we are going in, we are going to have fun, and we'll be hitting it when it's still in the non stacked out phaze. I am really looking forward to this trip.

TWENTY TWO MORE DAYS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Get it!

Richard
PS- Casey I'd bring a spare front shaft if you can get one easily enough. If you did ahave a problem up front you'd be alot happier driving out rather than having to get towed up caddy! I had to tow a heep out a few years back, and that was scary as hell right there.

Look at it this way - Makes you the "special" one and Steve always treats "special" ones in a "special" way

Sure, after all, what am I gonna break even if I spin them.

Nothing.

Those very same internet lame tires have really seen a heck of a lot of action. Moab multiple times, Aftershock once, Arizona over and over again. Now Rubion and then off to Colorado for all that stuff.

We saw that too. I'm sure there will still be some snow, but we're gonna give it a shot.

If it's too hard or too much snow, we'll cross that bridge at the time.

You've got my kind of attitude ole boy as pain is only weakness leaving your sorry ass body and everyday is a good day to die if you're having fun. I'm driving well over 3K miles to enjoy the trail and have a few beers with ya all and a foot or so of snow sure isn't going to ruin my day.

Dont worry friends that snow will melt fast. I took my shop truck (stock 3/4 ton) up the mountain behind my house (7000ft), and we ALMOST made it to the top (got stuck within feet of my goal). There was alot less up there than just a few days ago so it is melting very, very fast. It is going to be a genuine riot of a trip.
