I had a blast with everyone. (The wife also thought so too...
)
Let me try to recollect the battle scars for this weekend:
+ Bruce:
- Cracked driver side fender
- Busted passenger headlight
- Blocked radiator fan (almost overheated)
- Shifted body mounts
- ... Anything else I missed?
+ Lance:
- Broken headlight panel
- Skid plate damage
- Bumper CLUNK! CRUNCH!
+ Ahriman:
- Leaked tires
- Rubbing! Rubbing! Rubbing!
+ Peter:
- Busted clutch
+ Loi:
- Busted my pretty Tacoma skid plates (need more approach angle)
+ Nam (F-150)
- Hurt ego for not making up the big dunes with us little yotas
I know there are more. Please add to my list...

hey timber,
same exact thing happened to me when I was up at Pismo
the "decorative rock deflector" is slightly puckered in the middle! Mine is mounted exactly like yours too- so as not to damage the pretty plastic

All I can say is YAAAAAAAA!!!, Pismo was a complete and total blast.
Want to thank Bob, Steve, and Charles for setting up such a quality shing dig. Even though I had to leave early due to a family thing, I still had a great time.
Being able to test my FJ for the first time, especially on my own was one of the finest times I have ever spent. Bob, I know what you mean about competition hill, I would have regretted all my life if I didn't try it at least once, made it up two out of three runs.
Was having to much fun to take any pics.

Hey guys, thanx I had a great time!!!!!!!!!!!!!
I think I qualify as the one that got stuck the best. It took both Bruce and Lance to get me off the top of that hill, thanx guys. (Lesson learned dont back off too soon). At least I made it the second time round.
I will post pics soon. I also want to make a good video. Umfortunately some shots was way too shaky (didn't trust leaving the vid cam on the tripod). So if anybody else has good quality vid, let me know. I would like to edit it into one good vid.
Thanx Michael for abducting my table and chair!! Will have to get it at Hollister then
Kyle thanx for driving the Freelander.
Bob, Bliksem is enjoying his bone at the moment. He says thanx. Oh and I think you might have my other chair. Will have to figure a meet out to reclaim it then
I did want to go back to get my stuff, but after my center diff didn't want to unlock I completely forgot. Me bad!!
Lance than for the radio, will PM you my addy.
The best part of the day was the sand racing!!! That was fun, even the Landy could win a race. Wish I got video fo that. Guess we will have to go back and do it again. ANybody actually kept going WOT the whole way?? I lost mny nerve every time we hit the bumps and backed down. Doing 60 on sand with uneven surface is not my cup of tee.
Will post pics and vid soon. Need some input if anybody has some.
Still need to clean the vehicles, they look like sandboxes.

It was a great time!!
I really enjoyed meeting everyone.
Thanks to everybody who helped make this event happen.
also a big thanks goes to ahriman for letting me ride with him in his 4th gen on Sat... I'm starting to think maybe the 4th gens aren't so bad.
I did get lots of crap about sleeping in my bed and not at camp though

it was a really great trip despite my battery incident(s), and my fenders rubbing on practically anything i tried to climb. but overall, it was a truly awesome time.
i think it might be time for some fiberglass fenders...

Hey guys, I had a great time at Pismo with you this weekend. It was a blast getting to meet most of you for the first time. I wish I could have stayed through Sunday to hang out longer.
Thanks to Bob, Steve, and Charles for their work to put on an awesome event. Thanks to Lance for the cool stickers.
To add to the breakage list, I had my electric fans go out on Saturday and I overheated out on the dunes. I guess the fan control box didn't like all that sand and salt air.
I had to hardwire the fans directly to the battery to get home. Any time I would stop for a while I would have to pop the hood and disconnect the wires from my battery so I didn't drain it. I got it fixed now and next time I hit the dunes I'll have that control box sealed up better.
It did give me a reason to use Bob's OBDII sensor though. That thing is cool! I was getting a check engine light after overheating. He hooked up the sensor to his palm pilot and was able to see the error code. It was just an error code saying that the engine had overheated. With a click of his pen Bob was able to clear the error code and the check engine light went off.
Anyway, I got a few pics from the weekend. I'll try to get them up soon. I look forward to wheeling with you all again sometime.

We were doing pretty well on the sand drags too until we hit the whoop dee doos. Ouch!It was fun driving around looking for camp with you and Peter Friday night. Man we got some bad directions.
And Peter, thanks for bringing that Hi-Lift for me. I was a little surprised when you didn't pull it out of a Tacoma, 4RunnerDude.

Brad,
That nifty little unit is called an Auterra. i bought it after both MTL Runner and Midiwall recommended it. It was actually the first time I cleared a real engine code since mine is so well maintained
Good to hear you got home in one piece
I bought mine on ebay. Be patient and you might be able to snag one for cheap. Just type in Auterra. oh, there's some great threads here on the Auterra unit so search away if you're considering one.
