Mt. Antero (CO4RJ pre-run) August 2nd
Hey, all!
I'm going to run Mt. Antero this weekend as a pre-run for CO4RJ. Anyone care to join me?
If any of you from the metro area would like to go, let's meet at the Safeway in Conifer around 9:00 AM. If any of you from the Buena Vista/Salida area or anywhere else any that area would like to go, we can meet and Johnston's Village around 11:00 AM.
See you there!

I may be up for that. I think I'm headin' out to the Crested Butte area this weekend (Friday evening through Monday) for Taylor, Italian, Lead King and Schofield, though I'm not sure if Schofield is open yet. However, based on the fact that the 3 highest passes are (In part, due to your report--very nice by the way. Could've used more shots from the summit though!) open, that might be a good sign. I might see how far I can get on Pearl as well. I'll have to check with Jerry in Gunnison (owner of SAS'd '87 Runner who is on CO4x4) for updated trail info.
Yesterday, my dad and I did Shrine, Ptarmigan, McCallister, Tincup and Hancock. So this weekend, I'd probably do a few more in that area as well like Tomichi, Antero, Baldwin Lakes, Brown Lake, Pomeroy Lakes, etc. So, if that's not all a full docket, I don't know what is!
Of course, if any of that sounds interesting to anyone, you're more than welcome to join me. That's a lot of driving though!
So, I could see about meeting in Johnson Village. I'll have to put more of a gameplan in place for myself, then try to fit that in. I don't think that would be too difficult.

(sending you e-mail)If you are driving Taylor and Italian, have you thought about driving Pearl, too? Jeff and I talked about me leading that whole loop at CO4RJ, but we decided it was too long for one day. I'll probably set that up sometime after CO4RJ.
Are you going to be camping this weekend? I wouldn't mind going up to Baldwin Lakes again. There was some good fishing there.
Also, I'm all for meeting earlier on Saturday.

Nice pics. Thanks! I was actually referring to Argentine though.
Yes, I mentioned Pearl above.
Camping is the only way to do it.
If it's just the 2 of us on Saturday, the earlier the better for me.

I might just have to pack provisions for an overnight stay on Saturday if you are thinking about Taylor/Pearl/Italian.
I'll send you the Argentine Pass pictures
EDIT: I updated my Argentine Pass report with a couple more summit pictures
