Made It Back from Tinkham
Hey everybody
I just made it back from my snow run to Tinkham, and let me just say...Wow. Do not go up there. There is no too much snow, about 6-10 inchs where i turned around. But all the snow is hard and icey, so you can't go anywhere. Although i did not air down and i have 12.5 inch wide tires, so that didn't help.
There are trees everywhere down. me and a friend cut down 3 with an axe and hard to pull them out(with the truck of course) then we met up with 2 fords and a jeep waiting while someone was cutting down a HUGE tree with a chainsaw and winching it out of the way. by the time we turned around, we had to stop twice more to cut down some trees. the fords and jeep stopped to "camp" for the day. i turned around, just about getting stuck in a ditch. on the way down we met up with about....5 truck in a little turnaround spot, and had to pull over and wait for 10 more (literly) we waited probably 15min becuase they are all bad drivers. on the way down we helped a durango behind up pull over to the side of the road twice because people where coming up and can't pull over. towards the bottem there where another 10 trucks and a forest ranger there.
Anyways, we finally found out why there where so many people, its because you can get chrismas trees for $10 (i believe) so mass people show up.
Its not really worth going up there, too many people, and cant go anywhere, theres trees down all over the place to just too much water
but still a lot of fun, and made it back in one piece.(plus it took 1/4 tank of gas just for the 12 miles on the freeway!!!!)
P.S. sorry for the long post, just had to say my story
