Sorry I can't make it to this one, going to Mesa Verde with the G.F. for the Fourth. Maybe later in the month or in August for another trip.

My wife and I (and our two boys) might be interested. Where is Johnson's Villiage? Is this where the bears ate Matt's food? If so, I any ideas on how to avoid a replay of that? And who is thinking of going. Is Adrian still a possibility?

Johnson Village is at the corner of 285 and 24, and couple miles south of Buena Vista.

The bear(s) got hungry on the east side of the Cottonwood Pass Road. Don't worry, there will be no replay next weekend as Matt isn't coming!

Adrian will be in town for a concert anyway, and said he'd prefer to stay on runs closer to town, but I have a feeling he will be negotiable.

I am still trying to decide . . .

Darren, Why don't you just have Adrian spend the weekend at your place (or our place) and we'll go out for day trips. (Darren and I live about a mile from each other.) Donna's even offering to make lasagna(sp?) for us all. Heck, we could even invite Yoder over so he could meet Adrian.

On he 4th, I'm thinking of taking Logan to the drag races and fireworks at Bandimere(sp?) raceway. The tickets are something like $10. That might be a fun thing, too.

We could take Adrian up Red Elephant Hill, or some other local runs. Radical Hill would be fun, too, though it's farther. But I think Donna and I would be more up for using Denver as our "base camp" than somewhere with bears. (Plus, we don't want to have to pack this week.)

Have Blue, you're in town, too, aren't you? What do you think? Or are you only interested if we camp? Anyone else interested?

I'd be interested in a series of day trips closer to home.
That might actually work a little better for me right now. I've been trying to get my new bumper on the front of my truck for over a week now. As of today, my rig is in a frame shop in Englewood having the front 12" of frame rail straightened. It WILL be on by Friday or I will reinstall the old bumper.

Okay, for trails close to town:
West-
Old Fall River Road
Argentine Pass ( ...still snowed over)
Haggerman Pass (too easy)
I'm drawing a blank and my book is in the truck at the shop

Southwest-
Webster Pass (bring shovels for snow)
Mosquito Pass (not likely, but we could try)
Taylor Pass (bring shovels)
Italian Creek
Tincup Pass
Drawing another blank...

I am down for whatever, where ever and any other evers.

I will be at Red Rocks on the night of the 4th, show starts at 6, may run for a while as Blues Traveler is somewhat of a jam and roll band. No idea on how easy it will be to make it out of the parking in a timely fashion, perhaps someone else has a guess?

As usual, I appreciate the invites to crash at people's places, thank you Mike. I am also down for camping too.

My only concern is the timing of getting some where Friday night to meet you all, or alternatively Saturday morning.

I will slow down, thank you very much. This time I will have more time to get there and not feel like I am holding up the show.

Mike and Darren both have my number. My last computer access will be Thursday at 9 pm. Hopefully plans will have firmed up by then.

Peace,
Adrian

Here's a proposal:

- Adrian drives up to my house on Friday, relaxes a little before the concert.

- Adrian goes to the concert at Red Rocks, I take Logan to the drag races/frieworks show.

- Adrian comes back to my house to sleep that evening.

- Saturday we go out on a run (TBD) with Darren and Blue, and whoever else.

- Saturday evening we meet for dinner at Woody's Pizza near Yoder's house so Adrain can meet Scott.

- Sunday is up for grabs as to whether people want to go out or not.

Darn, sounds like nothing is going down Friday. I work Saturday afternoon.

Anyone want to go play Friday?

Well I've been back and forth so many times about what I will do this weekend. I've finally decided I will stick with my original plans and go to the San Juans--Silverton, T-Ride, etc.

I would make better and full use of my days off doing this, not that it wouldn't be fun hanging with you all again. I was really torn, but I gotta head down there. Black Bear was to open as of tonight and if stays open, I'll be riding shotgun in an open TJ with a fellow CO4x4 guy ("Claw") for my first trip down that road. Funny thing is, he was actually behind our group last summer on Poughkeepsie at the jam along with that burly Jeep he was wheeling with which made "The Wall" look like nothing, for those of you that recall.

Anyway, hopefully I will get to meet Dave ("DSP") while I'm down there as well. Of course, anyone is free to join me down there if they'd like. The bus leaves real early Friday though.

Sorry I won't make it this time guys. Have fun wherever you end up going.

I'll get your phone number from Yoder and we can make plans. I'll be calling Adrian up, too, to see what he wants to do. It looks to me like it'll be us three on Saturday. I'm pretty sure I won't do anything on Friday, though I'd like to see Matt.

Sorry Mike, The next Saturday I have off might be in Mid August. I haven't seen you guys since January in Georgetown.

Alan, I was thinking of bouncing around the neighborhood Rampart Range Road between Monument and Castle Rock Tonight into Friday night. It would be great to find a spot to see both Denver area and Colo Spgs area fireworks in a relativly quiet, pleasant spot. I'll probably leave around 3 PM today depending on how much I get done today (Thursday).

Mike, that plan sounds good to me.

I will be in touch later today, either on the phone or I will check back here. I am pretty sure that I still have the map to your place in the truck here.

Glad you have the bumper fixed, sounds like it was quite an ordeal.

It would be great to meet Mr. Yoder, all of these stories and pictures, it would be cool to put a name with a face.

I can wheel until about midday Sunday, unless something suspicious happens to my truck and I have to tell my boos I need more time to get home.

Peace,
Adrian

If you guys do Spring Creek, I will let you have it when I get back! I guess that would be alright though. I definitely get to ride Black Bear on Saturday and I am pumped beyond belief right now!

Talk to you all on Monday! Safe travels.

You gotta take pictures of Black Bear. I've wanted to tackle that trail for a while but have received mixed reviews. I know the switchbacks are pretty hairy and will most deffinately require a 3-point turn in our rigs. I'm really anxious to hear how the Jeeps do. Hope you're ready to throw in some wrench time
